It is Christmas Eve Y’all!! Tonight my family from my mother’s side will be gathering together for good company and great food! Every year my sisters and I help my grandma and mom make home made tamales a week before Christmas Eve and than we freeze them so we can have them ready to go. It is one of my favorite Christmas Traditions. We will also be opening gifts tonight and it can get a little crazy, because we literally buy everyone a gift and we open them one by one so everyone can see what we got each other. It typically takes us about 5 hours to get through the presents. My family and I are truly blessed and humbled that we have opportunities such as these that our Lord has granted us with. Christmas would not be Christmas at all if we weren’t for our savior Jesus. It is so easily to get wrapped up with idea of opening gifts, shopping for gifts, but it truly is important to make time to have a moment with God. My favorite moments consist of silence, prayers, and self-reflection. People close to me know that I was raised and grew up Christian, but since dating my boyfriend I have the opportunity to learn about faith in a different perspective through the Catholic Church. Today will be the first day I attend a Christmas Mass in a Catholic Church, so I am looking forward to attending. One thing is for sure about Christmas this year, is that I am truly blessed to have my family by my side and as each year passes
I become more aware of things that truly matter and that’s
that we must live each day with the mindset of serving our Lord and Savior.
Now before things get a little busy for some of you all tonight I wanted to share with you this darling plaid dress I got from Make Me Chic. Although I think that this would make a cute Christmas Day outfit, I also like that this plaid pattern can also be worn in winter. Did I mention it is only $15 dollars? Make Me Chic has incredibly affordable outfits and I think you might want to start shopping for a New years outfit, especially if you don’t want to be spending much after this Christmas Holiday. I know I went over my budget getting gifts, because I really hate leaving people out. I found holiday outfits for under $25 like this one and this one. If you will be attending a family get together and looking for something casual but dressy check this one out.I usually wear a size small in dresses, but I ordered a size Large because I was afraid it would be tight since the material is not stretchable. However, a large was to big for me so a size medium would of been perfect for me.
Any who I better get going and start baking for tonight’s traditional Christmas Eve with my family. Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and don’t forget the reason for the season! Love you all!
