I am a proud female Minority of Mexican-American heritage. Like many of you, I embrace my culture and take pride in the way it has shaped me to the woman I am today. Implementing diversity is significant in the educational system, by doing so we make our communities and young generation aware of the all the similarities and differences amongst each other. When people and the future of our communities are taught such things, we grow as a nation that learns to respect one another while having valuable and unbiased opinions about culture.

My roots have grounded my morals and values that are still carried by many Mexican-American families today. Hispanic Heritage Month is a month that acknowledges the Hispanic contributions in our country through the history and culture. Because of such culture traits as a Hispanic, my heritage has shaped my perspective and influence in this world. My mother was a first generation graduate earning her bachelors in Education while starting a family. With the support of her family and my father she continued to have the drive to obtain her Master’s in Guidance and Counseling while being a mother to four daughters. My sisters and I have grown to value the importance of education and what it means to be well driven Hispanics because of my parents motivation and hard work. Like many families out there, we struggled, but their perseverance and determination set high expectations for my sisters and I. I am extremely blessed to have obtained my Master’s in Educational Leadership at a young age with the support of my family. I could only hope that the students I teach and the driving force I demonstrate on a daily basis encourages them to reach their potential.

This top was purchased at my recent visit to a Mexican border town for only $12. It amazes me how much value in price it goes up only 10 minutes into the U.S soil. OH and if you are wondering were I got those earrings, I got them at a local shop in the Bahamas. Have your self a great Hispanic Heritage Month!

God Bless You!

♥ Robin
