Can you believe our cruise departure date interfered with a tropical depression on our way to the Bahamas! Crazy, but nonetheless the good Lord watch over us and we were able to still have a great trip. Now to the needy greedy, what on earth to wear on cruise? I have been on five cruises already and it is always a challenge to create outfits so I’m hoping that this post will help you be prepared with outfit ideas to take on a cruise.

Accessories:
I usually don’t like to take too much jewelry so I pack a few pieces that I know could easily match most of my outfits that I am taking. I take one purse, typically a cross body so I don’t have to worry about the many purses I have on the ship. This cruise I packed three sunglasses and since they weren’t brand or expensive shades I didn’t mind taking them with the thought of maybe losing them.

Day One:
I usally like to check in as early as possible to beat the long lines. We checked in at 11:30 a.m and the weather was little crazy, so crazy that my boyfriend and I saw some people on a kayak paddling down the flooded streets on Galveston. So with the knowledge of possible rain I didn’t want to wear any dresses and wanted something comfortable to get to the port and waiting lines. Shorts are a safe choice.
My day outfits:
You will want to wear shorts during the day so you can walk outside the ship and be comfortable, afterall it is summer and extra Hot! Throughout the day carnival has an itinerary full of different activities you can participate or are just as fun to watch.
Outfit Details: Shorts; from Target N/a / Top; $10.00 at Bealls N/a Similar

Beach Outfits:
Free Port, Bahamas:
We stayed at an all-inclusive beach resort (day pass) and it was $80.00 per person. It came with unlimited food like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and tuna salad, fries, pizza, rice and some other good food. Unlimited alcohol was also inlcuded, however the line to actually get a drink was ridiculous. For the most part it was nice to have a private piece of the island to ourselves with pools and other activites available. Wifi is also available.
Outfit Details: Swim suit / Sandals from payless / Pompom scarf from Carnvial fun shop / Shades / Sun hat bought from Abercombie n/a
Nassau, Bahamas:
We took a tour in and around the city and made several stops that inlcuded The Atlantis, Queen’s Staircase, Fort Fincastle, and drove by beautiful high end homes. After the tour trip which took about two and half hours, our driver dropped us off at the free public beach Junkanoo. The tour cost us $20 each. The beach rents out chairs and umbrellas and also has free wifi (The best part). There I tried for the very first time Conch fritters, I’m not a fish person so I would say it was okay Lol. Instead I had some delicious chicken wings, yum!
Dinner Attire:
I typically wore sun dresses for my 6 o’clock dinner. I recommend reserving this time because having dinner at 8 is too late for me Lol, but because you also miss out on some shows and raffles that happen on the ship around 8 o’clock. Since we were on a seven day cruise we had two formal dinners, which means you are asked to dress to impress. I used dresses I already had in my closet so I wouldn’t have to spend on buying more outfits for the cruise. I didn’t get to take photos of my formal wear because I promised the boyfriend that I would spend quality time focusing on the vacation and not just photos. So typically about dinnertime I didn’t have my phone around. =)
Hope you all enjoyed my looks I put together for this cruise and hope this serves as a helping guide for you as you start to think about the outfits you want to pack up! If you need a packing list or want some more insight about cruises please check out my blog post over a cruise packing list! Happy Monday my loves!
God Bless You!
